What does interior painting include?
A full interior painting job covers walls, ceilings, trim, doors and baseboards, plus the drywall repair and priming that come before paint. One Colourscape crew handles all of it, and can add cabinets, limewash or Roman clay to the same project.

Because paint does not hide damage, it highlights it. Fresh paint shows every dent, crack and old patch underneath, especially in a sheen. So we repair the drywall, match the texture, prime the patches and sand before a drop of color goes on. You see one coat when we leave. The four under it are why it lasts.

Do you repair drywall before painting?
Yes. We patch holes, cracks and nail pops, match the existing texture, and prime repairs before any paint goes on. We also remove popcorn ceilings. Repairs are written into your quote so you know what is being fixed before we start.
How much does interior painting cost in Reno and Lake Tahoe?
It depends on the size of the rooms, ceiling height, how much drywall repair the walls need, how many colors and surfaces are involved, and whether the home is furnished. Tall vaulted ceilings and heavy repairs add the most time. We give a free, written room-by-room quote after walking the home, so the price reflects your actual walls.
How do you schedule interior painting jobs?
When you approve your quote, we reserve a specific start date and time for your home on our calendar. You are not left waiting inside a one or two week window.
Can you paint my Tahoe home while I am away?
Yes. Many of our Lake Tahoe clients own second homes. We can work from a lockbox, a key or your property manager, and we send progress photos so you can see the work as it happens.
Can you paint interiors in winter?
Yes. Interior paint needs a warm room, not a warm day. With the heat on, walls and trim dry and cure normally, and we ventilate as we go. Winter is also when our schedule has the most room.
Is it safe to stay in the house while you paint?
Yes, for most interior jobs. We use low-odor, low-VOC paints and keep rooms ventilated as we work. The EPA notes that indoor levels of many organic compounds average 2 to 5 times higher than outdoors and recommends increased ventilation when painting (EPA), so we plan the work room by room to keep the rest of the house livable.
Do you paint kitchen cabinets and specialty finishes too?
Yes. We spray-finish kitchen cabinets and vanities, and we apply limewash, Roman clay and microcement on walls, ceilings and fireplaces. One crew can handle the walls, the cabinets and the accent finishes in the same project.
